AstraZeneca is currently looking for aFullStack - Platform Engineerto join our R&D IT Team to manage and maintain our product integrations that are GxP compliant, part of Clinical Development Platforms, and used across late science teams in all therapeutic areas. You will be part of our BizDevOps team and will be responsible for working cross-functionally with other team members such as the Product Lead, DevOps Lead, and technical engineers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build integration pipelines in alignment with standard architectural strategy.
  • Perform delivery activities through Design/Build/Test/Deploy phases for regular releases, primarily on the A&R product.
  • Create reusable artifacts wherever possible.
  • Build user guides and best practices for tool adoption and usage.
  • Utilize vendor-based products to build optimum solutions.
  • Work with product teams to provide full-lifecycle tooling guidance and reusable artifacts (such as Internal Actions).
  • Work with the Integration Lead and DevOps Lead for products and vendors to build new integrations and manage existing integrations.
  • Participate in continuous improvement discussions with business and IT stakeholders as part of the scrum team.
  • Maintain the work product log for functional and integration configuration across products in the OCD Products.
  • Prepare SDLC documentation, KB articles, and Confluence documentation.
  • Generate and implement ideas to streamline our integration landscape to simplify BAU support.
  • Work with the centralized integration team and Globalscape teams to maintain legacy integration interfaces.
  • Work with software vendors on product requirements and issues related to the platform, security setup, and functional configuration.
  • Utilize JIRA for requirements, tasks, validation/testing, and go-live activities during releases.
  • Solve day-to-day incidents and service requests, and work towards incident reduction and automation of service-related activities. Update ServiceNow (ticket management tool) for all events regarding incidents, service requests, changes, and problems.
  • Participate in service-related activities with business and IT stakeholders as part of the scrum team.
  • Maintain SLAs and customer satisfaction scores and take actions to improve them.

MANDATORY SKILLS:

  • Experience working in software development projects, including custom full-stack (Java, Python, JavaScript, Angular, PowerShell, Bash) programming and data integration.
  • Proven experience in engineering and software architecture design.
  • Design, code, test, and implement software solutions and integrations in support of the A&R product.
  • Sound knowledge of various operating systems and databases.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction, and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues.
  • Experience planning and developing support processes and adhering to best practices.
  • Knowledge of support processes like Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management, and experience working in support teams.
  • Experience working with JIRA, Confluence, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with people across the globe with diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Experience working in agile teams using methodologies such as SCRUM, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and utilization of Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
  • Passion for learning, innovating, and delivering valuable software to people.
  • Familiarity with version control systems, especially Git.
  • Experience applying Generative AI techniques at a practical, hands-on level. This includes building, customizing, or integrating Gen AI models.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS and Azure).
  • Experience working with GxP systems and documentation.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and non-SQL databases such as MongoDB.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong understanding of software design principles and patterns.
  • Exposure to React, SpringBoot, and GitHub Copilot.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Math, Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent degree is preferred but not required. Self-taught engineers with a proven history in software engineering will be considered.
